The Vital Question
During our bible study online on February 20th, we slowed down to ask a foundational question: “What kind of church do we want to be?” Here at We Believe Kingdom Church, it is easy to get caught up in programs, but we want to focus on our identity as a Christ-centered community. To be the authentic church God intended, we must be people of absolute integrity who truly understand what it means to be “sent ones” in the St. Louis area.
Handling the Word with Integrity
A builder understands that if the foundation is off by even an inch, the whole house will eventually lean. In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul tells us to be workers who correctly handle the word of truth. Think of a master craftsman who must “measure twice and cut once.” We carry that same responsibility with Scripture at We Believe Kingdom Church. We cannot afford to be sloppy with the Gospel.
In 2 Corinthians 4:1-2, we are reminded to refuse underhanded ways or deception. Just as a mirror is useless if it is distorted or clouded, a church loses its purpose if it “waters down” or tampers with the Word to make it more popular. We must reject “hidden things of shame” and instead prioritize transparency in our leadership and our personal lives. This absolute integrity ensures the light of Christ shines through us clearly.
The Danger of Departure
There is a gravity to the message we carry. Both Galatians 1:8 and Revelation 22:18-19 provide solemn warnings against altering the Gospel. Think of the Bible as an anchor for a ship. If we “add to” or “take away” from it, we aren’t just changing a book; we are drifting away from the only thing that keeps us safe in a storm.
When people look for the right kind of church, they are looking for a place that stays moored to the truth. According to Ephesians 5:11-13, a healthy church doesn’t ignore the “fruitless deeds of darkness.” Instead, we let the light of the Word expose those areas so that real healing and repentance can happen. At We Believe Kingdom Church, staying true to the Word is our only safety.
Living as a “Sent One”

What does it mean to be a sent one? In the original language of the New Testament, the word for “sent one” is apostolos, which describes an ambassador. Imagine an ambassador living in a foreign land. They do not make up their own laws or represent their own opinions. Instead, they carefully represent the laws and the heart of their home country.
As a church in St. Louis, we are called to be those ambassadors. We often ask, “How do I understand difficult passages?” or “How do I share my faith?” The answer starts with a heart that wants to grow in faith through daily study. Remember, this ministry is a gift of mercy from God, not something we earned. As you go into your workplace, school, or neighborhood this week, ask yourself: “How am I representing the One who sent me?”
Our Commitment
Being an authentic church starts with a personal decision to hold the integrity of Scripture above all else. Let us commit to being “sent ones” who speak the truth plainly and without fear. May We Believe Kingdom Church be a light in our city, correctly handling the Word of truth in every conversation.
