From a long-awaited step of obedience to a brand-new commitment to Christ, the WBKC family welcomed two powerful testimonies to the water on August 2nd.
The energy inside We Believe Kingdom Church was electric on Sunday, August 2nd, as the congregation gathered around the baptismal pool to celebrate two distinct, life-changing moments. Baptisms always bring a unique joy to the room, but this particular Sunday offered a beautiful picture of how God meets people at completely different stages of their spiritual walk.
A Long-Awaited Baptism of Obedience
For Justin, stepping into the water was the completion of a promise he had carried in his heart for a long time. Justin was already a believer when he first found WBKC, but he had never taken the step of baptism. His journey to the church started in a simple, everyday moment. After finishing a workout at Edge Fitness in Bridgeton, he was driving down the road when he passed the church building. He felt a distinct, unmistakable nudge from the Holy Spirit to pull over and check it out.
Justin listened to that prompt. He walked through the doors, got connected with the community, and eventually made WBKC his church home. As he got involved, the desire to fully obey Christ’s command through baptism kept growing. On August 2nd, Justin finally took that step, turning years of quiet faith into a bold public declaration. His story reminded everyone in attendance that it is never too late to follow through on obedience.
A Fresh Start in Faith
Just moments later, Lauryn stepped up to share a story from the opposite end of the faith journey.
Unlike Justin, Lauryn is a brand-new believer. Her path to the water began through her mother, Cara, who has been an active member at WBKC. Through that family connection, Lauryn had the chance to sit down for an open conversation with Pastor Ken. They talked through what it really means to follow Jesus, answering her questions and laying out the gospel clearly. During that conversation, Lauryn decided to surrender her life to Christ.
When Pastor Ken guided Lauryn into the water on Sunday, it marked the official beginning of her new life in Jesus. Watching her smile as she came up out of the water gave the entire congregation a reason to shout. It served as a fresh reminder of the life-changing power of a simple conversation and a mother’s faithful witness.

Having both Justin and Lauryn baptized on the same morning showcased the beauty of the local church.
