We Believe Kingdom Church held its first session of Building The Kingdom, our workout program, on Saturday, August 8th at 9 a.m. in the church fellowship room, marking the launch of a new 6-week workout program designed to help members grow stronger in body as they grow stronger in faith. The program is one of the newest additions to WBKC’s roster of member-focused ministries, reflecting a growing conversation within the church about caring for the body as part of a life of faith and a shared commitment to showing up for one another.
Inside the First Building The Kingdom Session
Six participants showed up for the inaugural session: Ken and Shawn Robinson, Elijah and Courtney Williams, Tanya Porter, and Jachelle Edelen. Some others weren’t able to make it due to other obligations, but we expect that number to grow as word spreads through the church community. Each Saturday for the next six weeks, the group will gather in the fellowship room to work through low-impact, bodyweight exercises that require no equipment and are accessible to people at any fitness level, keeping the focus on consistency rather than comparison.
Accountability Partners and Healthy Habits
Every participant in Building The Kingdom is paired with an accountability partner for the full length of the program. The pairs check in with each other between sessions, offering encouragement and helping each other stay consistent from week to week. That kind of built-in support matters most, organizers say, since getting in shape is rarely something people stick with on their own, and having someone who notices when you miss a Saturday can make all the difference over six weeks.
After each workout, the group shares a healthy snack together, a small but intentional part of the program meant to reinforce good choices and support the body’s recovery. The snack time doubles as fellowship, tying the physical goals of the program back to the community that makes WBKC what it is.
Why the Program Exists
The heart behind Building The Kingdom goes beyond getting in shape for its own sake. The program’s focus scripture, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB), reminds believers that their bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit and are meant to glorify God. Organizers describe the program as a practical way of living that out, caring for the body so that physical limitations do not get in the way of ministry. A singer or speaker who gets winded partway through serving is fighting their own body instead of focusing on the work in front of them. Building cardio endurance and strength gives members of WBKC one less obstacle standing between them and what God has called them to do.
Looking Ahead
With five sessions remaining in this first 6-week cycle, church leaders are inviting the broader WBKC community to follow along and consider joining a future cohort of the workout program. This first group is meant to be a starting point rather than a one-time event, and they are already talking about what a second cohort could look like. Anyone curious about getting in shape alongside people who share their values and their Saturday mornings is welcome to reach out before the next cycle begins.
What started with six people in a fellowship room on a Saturday morning is shaping up to be a lasting part of how the church invests in its members, one workout at a time. As the weeks continue, We Believe Kingdom Church plans to share updates on the group’s progress and celebrate the milestones along the way.
We’re Building the Kingdom by building ourselves.

Building The Kingdom meets every Saturday at 9 a.m. in the WBKC fellowship room. For more information on joining a future session, contact We Believe Kingdom Church, or visit our events page.
